Head of Heritage Services and Capital Works Delivery ? Office of
Public Works The Office of Public Works (OPW) is a key service
provider to the Government managing Ireland?s flood risk and the
Government?s modern and heritage estate portfolio. The OPW has a

located in Trim with regional offices across the country.

The OPW is primarily a service organisation, with a client focus to
ensure timely delivery of services and value for money in the context
of a complex and demanding property and infrastructure development
environment. The Head of Heritage Services and Capital Works Delivery
will be a key member of the OPW Management Board and will report to
the Chairman. The post of Head of Heritage Services and Capital Works
Delivery is a newly defined role and has a wide remit within the
Estate Management function.

The role includes oversight of the OPW Heritage Service, State Events
delivery, Conservation and Infrastructure Project Delivery leading a
team of approximately 1,**Apply on the website** staff comprising
administrative, architectural, botanical, and a large field staff of
craft maintenance, conservation, gardening, and visitor services. OPW
Heritage Service encompasses National Historic Properties, Parks,
Gardens and National Monuments as well as managing the effective
delivery of State Events.

The successful candidate will, ideally lead the OPW?s Bio-diversity
strategy implementation. The successful appointee is expected to have
experience in large-scale and complex organisations with an ability to
lead staff and consistently deliver results under pressure. The person
appointed will be responsible for the delivery of a wide range of
important Capital Works Projects, ensuring all projects are designed
and delivered to a high quality;

in full compliance with regulations and standards; are consistent with
Government priorities; and are delivered effectively and efficiently
and to the satisfaction of the client. The post may be headquartered
in Trim or Dublin and may be able to avail of blended working
opportunities in accordance with Civil Service and OPW policies.
Travel within Ireland and some evening / weekend work will be a
requirement of this role.

? A strong record of delivery with a results focus, completing
multiple capital works projects on time, on budget and to the
clients? specification in a sustainable manner.
? Well-developed strategic and operational management skills with
evidence of effective judgement, decisiveness, business acumen and
exceptional negotiating skills.
? Innovative and creative thinking to problem solving, being
adaptable and agile in response to changing challenges and
constraints, while ensuring good governance in a complex public sector
environment.
? The skills to network at the highest level across the public
sector, to liaise with Government Ministers, Oireachtas Committees and
